Hi Bob,
Apologies on the SDK requiring a restart. There's nothing that gets
installed that it needs to restart for.
The script we use to create the installer package for the SDK sets up
all its installers to require restart (as we sometimes use it
internally to install system pieces.)
We've updated this internally so that future standalone SDK's won't
require a restart.
Cheers,
Luke.

I'm not sure how this could happen on a clean install of 10.3.x other
than if you installed one of our old SDKs on top of what the Panther

I'm just getting started with CoreAudio & went to install the April
2003 SDK. I have to admit that I balked when it told me that it was
going to require a restart. Panther & XCode being well after 4/2003 I
was nervous... and that was before reading your reply to Thomas
Hudson. Is the April 2003 SDK okay with Panther & XCode? What manner
of subterranean items does this SDK install?
Peace,
Bob
