Chris,
There's no doubt the architecture supports plug-ins that produce more or
less samples than they consume. The important question for us is whether any
hosts support that facility. Last time I asked, the developers at Emagic
were pessimistic about Logic *ever* supporting non 1-to-1 AU plug-ins.
"complicated or impossible" apparently.
Marc, with random access to the source audio, there's no reason such
plug-ins cannot be run in real time.
