Are there any plans to add this functionality to AudioUnits?

If not, would it be possible to achieve the result by implementing host-specific callbacks?
I would prefer to use AudioUnits rather than rolling my own plug-in mechanism, albeit through host-specific callbacks that would only make them usable from within hosts that implement the same set of callbacks.

Alberto.

We haven't really talked about it, not yet anyway.

Given the very general nature of properties, I suppose it would be possible
for an AudioUnit to support some kind of custom callback which could
ask the host to seek to various parts of the input stream before
the AudioUnit pulls its input.
