Really? I would have thought a traditional setup of a master keyboard
feeding the sequencer and modules chained to an output or on separate
outputs from the sequencer was normal. Outputs from modules are only of use
if you are running a librarian on your machine - if you like your JV sounds
how they are in the box (and lets face it, many people do these days) then
you don't need a send from your module.

Quite a few standard modules have different numbers of outputs and inputs.
Steinberg and MOTU have cutdown 8/8 modules to hit a lower price point with
2/6 or 2/4 configurations.
