Calling Mach-O from a carbon app is possible but requires a lot of extra

Am I misunderstanding you? I've written a Carbon app that uses OSX's
MIDI capabilities, and it seems to work just fine. The only thing is to
compile that Carbon app for Mach-O - no other changes are required.
And as for making a non-Carbon OS9 version of one's app to avoid calling
OMS from Carbon, I think that's a lot of trouble. Carbon requires some
pretty extensive changes in one's code. I think it's easier to put in some
stuff for calling OMS from Carbon. Best of all would be the freedom to
ignore OMS, of course.
