ODD.. I did that all day today with a 4x4 and had no problems. The only
problem I have is waking the interface from a laptop sleep

I have an open bug report that our devices disappear during when the
user clicks "Rescan MIDI" in AMS. In other words, it is probably my
fault. It doesn't seem to be a 100% sort of thing. I haven't had a
chance to investigate deeply just yet. I don't have a timetable for a
fix, unfortunately.
