Hello list,

I've been trying to think of a useful interpretation of a mixer with stereo input channels, but they all seem like redundant versions of a mono input mixer. Even if any of them were implemented, at best, the interpretation would just be an arbitrary choice and worst case being an annoying side-effect with the only work-around being going back to mono =).

Or... am I wrong?

thanks

We haven't implemented panning for stereo sources..

The lack of decent mixing is a major hindrance for us host developers. Is panning stereo sources really hard?

Is writing a mixer really hard? I want to rewrite Rax to allow arbitrary routing between devices etc. but the lack of a decent mixer is making it seem rather futile.

Apple's stereo mixer currently does not implement panning for stereo inputs
(only mono inputs). This may change in the future since there are several
interpretations for this type of panning.
