Dear Doug and Michael

Thanks for your answers and for the other that answered.

After replacing the Stealth Midi driver with a clean copy it cleared the
problem.

Next time it occurs I will try Doug and Michael solution

Can you explain why in the console log window I have the following messages
at boot :

2003-05-13 10:36:40.113 loginwindow[399] Error who? occurred setting volm
property of input channel 54 of device 10

--- Michael solution ------

It seems the MIDI Server has a corrupt preferences file.

* Delete file ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.MIDI.*.plist
(where ~ is your home directory and * is a random number)
* restart
* start Audio/MIDI Setup. It should automatically add all USB MIDI ports
* start Logic

--- Doug solution -------

Two things to try:
[1] temporarily remove all other MIDI drivers from your system (just
hide them in other folders), including:
/System/Library/Extensions/
AppleMIDIUSBDriver.plugin
AppleMIDIFWDriver.plugin
/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers
~/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers

[2] set aside ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.MIDI.*.plist

Do either of these make the symptoms stop?

Thanks again
