I think we've already got this fixed - the DLSSynth wasn't dealing correctly with the MaxFramesPerSlice property and 2048 sounds to me like its initial limitation - that's been fixed...

This is on a dual G4 processor, 100% reproducible (so far) running 10.2.5. I will try 10.2.6 to see if it fairs any better.
