fyi, I'm using Logic 6.3.3 with a 128 sample buffer size. Garage Band
uses 256. Playing a few Zebra notes in Logic uses about 15% of the cpu
for me. Doing the same thing in Garage Band 1.1 uses about 50%. I get
about the same numbers when I use Stylus RMX. Maybe it's the way I'm
using GB, but I've received reports of other users getting the same
results, so if it's user error, it doesn't seem to be an obvious one.

Hiya Glenn,
In a test in German Keyboards Magazine they actually found out that
they could use roughly 15% more Zebras in Garageband than they could
in Logic. Dunno which version of Logic tho...
Hehe, I don't think that VST2AU has any impact on this 8-)
Maybe Garageband uses smaller buffersizes for the live instrument than
Logic does by default (512 samples in Logic, I think)?
(I should eventually install GB here...)
Cheers,

I notice virtual instruments run a lot slower in Garage Band (1.0 or
1.1) than in Logic. It's not just me, I notice the same thing with
Phatmatik, Zebra or Chameleon (and I know you're not using VST2AU Art
and Urs :-)). I did a quick check with Shark, but no single source of
the problem was immediately obvious. Has anyone had time to look into
this and see what's going on?
