fyi, I'm using Logic 6.3.3 with a 128 sample buffer size. Garage Band
uses 256. Playing a few Zebra notes in Logic uses about 15% of the cpu
for me. Doing the same thing in Garage Band 1.1 uses about 50%.
Ehm, stupid question: how do you measure the CPU load? Hopefully not
via top, etc. The best thing is probably finding the maximum number of
instances till the overload case, because all standard tools just
measure the sum of all threads (either real-time (= audio and MIDI) and
non-real-time (like graphics, which is probably higher in GB, but not
important for the real-time performance))
Another thing: it is important what track is selected, because it can
change the CPU load (in Logic and GB)
