AUParameterSet/Event Notification and 'generic' UIs

  • Subject: AUParameterSet/Event Notification and 'generic' UIs

I have a parameter in my audio unit that can be changed 'automatically' from within the unit.

I use AUParameterSet to communicate this to my custom UI but this doesn't seem to cause a change if the host app is displaying the 'generic' UI (ie the Controls view in Logic 6 or using the plugin in FCP 4.5). I've tried adding the AUEvent notification mechanism but that doesn't seem to 'push' the change to the generic UI.

If I 'flip' from controls to editor and back to controls in Logic the refreshed display is correct (and indeed so is my custom display).

Is there some other trick to causing a generic UI to update in response to a parameter change ? Or do they just 'not do it' ?

Many thanks

Andrew 8-)
