The most recent SDK includes a folder named AudioFileTools which
includes program named afplay. The code in afplay is a more robust
file player.

Hi CoreAudio Folks,
My question about the 'more robust' afplay example is whether there
is anything about it that would preclude it's being used in a clean
10.2.3 environment? - Or, are special libs or framework materials
required to be present/installed? I think this is a problem I ran
into before - the API for earlier versions of CoreAudio would not
support the newer code. If this is still the case, is it conceivable
that I could drag along the, in my app, whatever might be needed?
Thanks!
you can get the most recent version of core audio if you upgrade to
10.2.8 then upgrade to the most recent quicktime (you can't do this on
less than 10.2.8) -- you can then make use of the latest core audio
stuff including the latest core audio sdk.
