Audio Units: sharing variable values between multiple channels

Hello list!

My question may be simple but I cannot find it in the guide.

When a host uses an Audio Unit to process multiple channels of audio, it calls Process() one time per channel per each slice/buffer. But I wonder, how can you make some variable have the same value across all channels? E.g. let's say I want to pre-calculate an envelope which will be the same for all channels.

Thanks for any help,

Artemiy.
