all text in traditional Resource Manager resources are supposed to be
"Mac" encodings such as MacRoman and MacJapanese.
and you probably don't want to localize the component name since most
AU host apps probably don't even support non-MacRoman names.
i just tried GarageBand 3.0.4, and it can't show Japanese name
properly (garbage text).
CocoaAUHost sample code (or CoreAudio PublicUtility) doesn't support
non-Roman either (hard-coded MacRoman at least the one i have on my
Mac).
btw, AU host is supposed to be using GetApplicationTextEncoding()
instead of hard-coded MacRoman.
