coreaudio help!

Hi,

I am trying to get some older code running that uses the coreaudio MIDI stuff. This is on a G5 running 10.4 (.7 I think).

I've got a drum machine connected through a FastLane USB Midi device. There's an "Audio MIDI Setup" program in my utilities folder, it shows that the Fastlane is connected, along with 'IAC' and 'Network'. But I don't know if I need to do anything from this program to activate it or if I can test it somehow?

I'm not sure how to test it with GarageBand, it doesn't seem to do anything in it when I strike the pads...

But in my own code, MIDIGetNumberOfDevices returns '3', which makes sense. But MIDIGetNumberOfSources and MIDIGetNumberOfDestinations both return 0, which seems like a good reason I'm not able to trigger any notes. Why would it detect the devices but not see them as source/ destinations?

Thanks for any help,
Bob
