auprocess in the examples (/Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/) lets you do this

for hosting - I don't think there is a host available - we publish versions of both the TP and Vari AUs as 'aufc' as well as the offline versions. In order to get them to show up in AULab we also publish a view for them - AULab filters 'aufc' units to show based on the availability of a view (we just republish the generic view as our "custom" view to do that as we don't really have enough controls here to warrant a custom view)

Second, I can't find a host program with which to experiement. Logic and
AULab don't seem to allow the loading of these effects, since they're
