Logic and GB plugins with 3rd party hosts

Hi everyone,

I want to write an AU host that utilizes plugins (generators / synthesizers etc) that come with (GB) GarageBand and Logic.
Is this allowed? I can't seem to find any logic or GB AUs on my system.
Are the default GB synths Audio Units or some other type of plugin?
