I want to write an AU host that utilizes plugins (generators / synthesizers etc) that come with (GB) GarageBand and Logic.
Is this allowed? I can't seem to find any logic or GB AUs on my system.
Are the default GB synths Audio Units or some other type of plugin?

Logic and GB are internal synths and effects. They are not AUs and therefore not available for other hosts.
