(iPhone) AudioFileStream Services unable to parse some aac files?

Hi all,

I wrote an iPhone application which plays audio using AudioFileStreamServices (should later on play over network if everything works fine locally). This works fine for every mp3,lpcm oder even iTunes ("convert to aac") converted aac (m4a) files. But unfortunately some aac files (which play fine in Quicktime Player on Mac, and even play fine on the iPodTouch if opened with AudioFile Services instead of AudioFileStream) do "skip" some audio samples, you hear jumps while playing the file.

I always hand 10kbyte chunks to AudioFileStreamParseBytes and for several chunks there is no PacketsProc callback, which I think should be.

I tested the file with the example mentioned here several times on the list (http://cocoawithlove.com/2008/09/streaming-and-playing-live-mp3-stream.html), and the results are the same, audio samples are skipped. So I am not the only one you eventually does something wrong.

Did somebody experience anything similar or has an idea were the problem could be?

Thanks in advance,

Marc Aurel Kiefer
