Yes, but it's only noticeable if you play those samples right after
other samples that are part of the same sound. The usual situation
this shows up in is in playing back music that's been broken into
multiple compressed files with no gaps between them, i.e. a continuous
DJ mix CD or a prog-rock album. For years people (including me)
bitched at iTunes because there were drop-outs at the track
transitions; this is one of the reasons why. Nowadays iTunes does
something to compensate for this during playback, and I think it
preserves the encoder context between consecutive tracks when ripping
an album, too (but I don't know for sure.)
