Hi Chris,

I would definitely give some thought to whether writing an application
makes sense at all, because there is just so much out there that does
exactly this. Someone mentioned the Amazing Slow-Downer, which is a
geat tool for this (and pretty cheap too), I personally use Prosoniq's
TimeFactory which loads songs directly from the iTunes library. It is
a bit on the costly side but then it's intended for professional
mastering engineers, and the quality of the time stretch is way better
than the built-in time stretch AUs that come with MacOS X. Here are
