Virtual midi device in logic

Hello,
i have successfully build a virtual midi device into my AU so i can send
midi to any other AU.
This works well even with more instances.(i have unique device names)
But if i save my project in logic and then want to reload it, the midi
connections in the environment are gone.
I guess this is because logic first trys to first rebuild it's environment
and fails there because my AU's and the virtual midi devices are not there
at this time.
Can somebody confirm this ?
Is there a way that logic ignores missing 'physically' devices when building
it's environment ?
Is it generally a bad idea to let a plugin being a virtual device and using
this virtual device in the hosting app ?
If i would go standalone (avoiding the environment problems) could i somehow
get the transport information from logic in order to sync to it ?
Or any other userfriendly way to have a midi processor for AU's with
compatibility to 10.4 ?
thanks,
Robert
