I know that AVAudioPlayer either requires an NSURL to the audio or NSData of the audio; however, if I have an instance of MPMediaItem and I wish to play the song represented by the MPMediaItem, is there any way to play the song with AVAudioPlayer? No, there is not. MPMediaItems can only be played by an instance of the MPMusicPlayerController (the iPod or Application player).
