Michael,

if you want you can send me the project via email, I have a 3GS to
test this with if a quick performance check is all you need.

Bill: on a related note, I was just trying to play a 6 channel 44.1kHz
16bit AIFF file using the AVAudioPlayer class and all I'm getting is
clicks and drop-outs on the device. Before I start debugging, is there
support for multichannel audio files at all, or is this most likely
just a performance problem?

Thanks
