Yes, that is a problem. I don't know of any - also, this will have to
be updated regularly in order to reflect the changes that developers
implement with each new version that they release... an unenviable
task, no doubt.
Also, I don't think that there is a tech note from Apple that clearly
states that people are supposed to use the Carbon UI as a fall back
and use Cocoa by default. I'm pretty sure that this would help, too.

I know, I've been on the Mac since 1993. People (software developers
in particular) are very reluctant to deal with new technologies,
especially ones they don't know or don't understand. I think it was
more of a marketing issue though - if people had realized how easy it
is to develop applications in ObjectiveC and how close it really is to
C++ this wouldn't have been much of a problem... anyway, I think after
all those years and with the majority of the apps being based on Cocoa
these days it's time to move on and get rid of Carbon in 10.7.
I'll cherish that day when it comes!
