Bill,

In case Mike Kent misses this and doesn't respond, I think
your answer still leaves room for confusion and I thought
I'd try and help...

To my knowledge the GS spec "Basic Tones" include a certain
number of sounds outside of the 128 in Bank "0", including a
Ukulele in bank "8". So to say "the synth engine is GS compatible"
could be taken to mean that you support all of the GS Basic
Tones, which would include the Ukulele...

The problem for Scott, then, is that the GM 2 Spec has the
Ukulele located at PC 25 Bank 1, not PC 25 Bank 8... but that's
something he could possibly address, vs. not having a Ukulele
available at all...

So the question is, does the Apple Synth have a full GS "Basic
Tones" set... or not?
