on the main system using some export display like X or VNC.
The reason is because X or VNC use several times the bandwidth compared to just sending the parameter and property updates. You would be able to achieve less with Logic Nodes if X or VNC were used.

Any ideas ?

Complex plugins are always a headache. Why not just do this the right way? Is there a specific reason why you cannot use the recommended property changes, even in a complex plugin?
