Stephen,

I have tested with AULab and an Edirol FA-101 running at 192KHz on SnowLeopard. I am not having any problems with distorted sound with the exception of the AUPitch. Try running a generator track. Do you hear the distorted sound with your plugins using a generator? If so, do you have distorted sound with any of the Apple audio units (other than AUPitch)?

Actually this is my mistake. I get the same problems in Logic although the 'IO Safety Buffer' helps a lot. It is the smaller block sizes causing the problems but what threw me is that the distortion happens even at relatively low reported CPU usage eg 50%.

Thanks,
Stephen
