Well, actually, that was a bit of a misnomer; the MusicPlayer/MusicSequencer/MusicTrack stuff is all in the AudioToolbox, which is Core Audio. And I think this is available for the iPhone... I certainly hope so, anyway. If it is, you should definitely look it over, because it makes life a lot simpler - really, it's very straightforward to use.
