Not if it inspires the OP to look for other such resources. The
point I was trying (and evidently failed) to make was that Audio
Units are not the only way to do DSP on the Mac. There are a
lot of DSP-related bits and pieces out there and there's a good
chance of finding something suitable with a bit of trawling
around. But if not, one could always pay a learned gentlemen
like yourself to write the relevant piece of code.
As for the original job spec, I would say, with respect, that
was misleading. One should state the requirements and say that
it must work on the iPhone, and not prescribe how it should be
done.

Hmm, yes, there are very real and unknown problems with the final product
that should be researched first on the phone itself.
It could all get a bit expensive and pointless otherwise.
BTW I've heard that the iPhone has quite bad quality audio, is this true?
