Not if it inspires the OP to look for other
such resources. The point I was trying (and evidently failed) to make was
that Audio Units are not the only way to do DSP on the Mac. There are a
lot of DSP-related bits and pieces out there and there's a good chance of
finding something suitable with a bit of trawling around. But if not, one
could always pay a learned gentleman like yourself to write the relevant piece
of code.
As for the original job spec, I would say, with respect, that
was misleading. One should state the requirements and say that it must
work on the iPhone, and not prescribe how it should be done.
