i think that what matters more is whether you are routing signals
*from* the plugin, not routing them to it.
if a plugin received an OSC message that led it to play some sound,
the user should hear that *if* they also expect that the host always
routes signals from the plugin at all times. if they understand that
the host sometimes doesn't route signals from the plugin, then its
reasonable that some out-of-band triggers for sound generation might
not cause anything audible.
