Using core audio for export

Hi,
I am using the AUGraph API for realtime audio playback and I want to use
the same system for exporting because it provides me with all the
multi-channel mixing capabilities that I need.
However, there are two things that I need to consider for exporting:
1. I don't want the audio coming out of the speakers while exporting. Is
there an output device that functions like the HAL output device but
doesn't actually play anything out of the speakers i.e. tailor made for
exporting?
2. The AUGraph setup that I have plays the audio in realtime, however
while exporting I'd like to export as quickly as possible which may mean
faster than realtime if the computer can handle it. Is this possible? How?
Thanks in advance.
