the second part has improved, but i believe that its still the case
that the data path to/from the GPU is not designed for the kind of low
latency uses that we typically want for realtime pro-audio/music
applications. if you and your users can deal with a design that adds a
bit of latency due to this data pathway, it can be quite powerful
(e.g. for relatively static but processing intensive FX).
