as long as you make the licensing work for you, which for a iOS app is
probably fine. if you need free as in GNU, there is Rubberband
(http://www.breakfastquay.com/rubberband/) Its probably not *quite* as
good as Dirac, but it is pretty good and licensable under GNU or a
proprietary license if you need it.
[OT] I would love to be using Dirac in Ardour, but the license model
that he uses is really a bit incompatible with open source software,
not because its restrictive but because it assumes that you only ship
binaries to customers. as soon as they build it themselves (or even if
3rd parties do so), it becomes hard to see where and how they get
Dirac ....
