dynamically hooking HAL plugin into CoreAudio

  • Subject: dynamically hooking HAL plugin into CoreAudio

Hello,

Is there a way to hook a HAL plugin into CoreAudio dynamically, or rather, without it having to be in the /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL folder?

I'm hoping to distribute an app without an installer, with all it's gubbins (mainly the HAL plugin) contained within the main app bundle, but not sure if this is possible...

Thanks,

Kieran.
