Slightly off topic: The unfortunate thing about google (and for some reason I've been harping on google today) is that everyone gets different search results these days – depending on your location, your 'interests', and google's overall profile on you. So, while it used to be okay to say to someone, 'hey, check it out, x is the first result on google', these days you can't guarantee that it is the case for everyone. In a lot of ways, the algorithm seems to favor people who already have googled these things in the past. And if you're a noob, well, chances are that google will show you a lot of weak info in your top results because it is going to assume you're looking for lightweight information.
Anyway, most results I get tend to be links to the mailing list itself. Cache sometimes will work, sometime will not, you can't really rely on it.

Ah, that's right. I haven't checked it for quite a while. They didn't really have any MIDI stuff last time I looked, but I'll check again.
Thanks for the reminder.

Oh yes... the docs are miserable, and there are no books (yet... please Chris and Kevin. soon?), so the list archive is an invaluable resource.
Sure, there are other places that seem to host the list archive (i.e., yes, 'Google is your friend'), but I don't seem to find as much... Not sure why... And anyway, even with Google, the top 5 hits are usually from the list. So, the list is a life-saver. I hope it comes back soon.

Seconded. I'd have been lost without the list archives when I was doing Core Audio work.

I don't know how urgent is urgent but I did try contacting the postmaster, got a "please confirm you would like to be removed from the mailing list" email in response. Audio is fiddly stuff, I don't think the level of documentation that is required to cover every use case will ever be there so the list archives are sometimes the only other alternative. I don't want to get abusive or angry about it but I would just like it to be known that I for one am very frustrated by the apparent lack of concern for developers.
