Hello all --
I have a strange bug I'm trying to track down. Very rarely, a user
will report that an iOS app that I wrote will stop making sound.
Other apps on their phone continue to provide audio. Oddly, this
issue isn't fixed by force quitting the app and opening it up again.
Audio only returns when the device has been completely restarted.
The issue seems to be slightly more prevalent in iOS 6 -- in fact, the
only time I've ever encountered the bug was/is on 6 beta 4, although
I've had the occasional report from other users back to iOS 5 (maybe
even 4.3?).
All the Core Audio calls that I'm making return with noErr when I'm
setting up the audio units. And, the render callback keeps getting
called -- just no audio is pushed (either headphones or speaks).
Anyone else encountered this? Any clues?
Thanks so much,
- John
