Yes, sorry for not being clearer. I did mean changing the header, not creating two files. But, as usual, it was user error: it helps to open a file for reading & writing instead of just reading... My apologies.

I think intent is a bit muddled here and, perhaps, 'new' is being used when 'changed' is intended. If Alex wants to end up with TWO files then yes he does need to copy but I think that all that he wants to do is 'change the header'. If he simply want to edit the file then NO he does not need to copy over all chunks.
