To chime in my $0.02 here, I actually appreciate to see some old
technologies marked as deprecated. The entire QuickDraw machinery is
another example.
Mac OS X in it's current state is so incredibly complex; it's a
relief to see some redundant stuff going away in the long term.
Redundant as in duplicated code as well as in running processes
rarely needed.
As much as I see some confusion right now, I'm just sure nobody will
noticeable bother when StartupItems actually go away in 2009.
