[Fed-Talk] Apple Stores, software and RAM

Hi All,

Couple of questions. The Annapolis, Md., Apple Store says that Apple software is not eligible for the Federal discount in the store, that it must be ordered online. Is this true, or does the store's personnel need some training?

Also, they wanted to charge $600 to upgrade a new 20" iMac to 2GB RAM at the time of purchase, while online Apple only charges around $260. What gives? Are they really ripping people off that much in the stores? (We won't even talk about the "oh well, that's just the way it is, take it or leave it" attitude of one of the sales people there).
