Part of this too though falls on the admin to vet updates before
applying them. You can take a look at the update and see everything
it is going to touch before you apply it, the Bartosh server book
goes into this in some detail as well. Another good thing to do is to
always apply patches on your test systems first, or even test the pre-
release patches from your ADC account.
It _is_ asking a lot of every admin to read every BOM though which is
why I was doing the Extended KB articles on the site. MS has really
nice KBs for each update that cover all the changes and I felt that
we needed something similar. Unfortunately the EKB articles take a
soul shattering amount of time to create and with everything else in
my life I simply don't have the time right now to keep up with them.
If anyone wants to help out with the EKBs just let me know!
