Trimming is good but bottom posting is counter productive.
Bottom posting causes us to get the same summary of each message of
the thread in the email list display over and over. It nullifies list
body summary function on the iPhone for example which is a very useful
feature of iPhone as well as i believe MS Outlook.
Then when opening the message, getting to the latest update requires
scrolling; sometimes a considerable amount.
Lastly, email software is designed to append the quoted message, not
prepend. This causes additional effort to remove any automated
signature from the top of the message, scroll to the bottom and then
reinsert the signature and add a message.
I don't understand the benefit to bottom posting all things considered.
