At Least in Huntsville you have to go into the store to sign up and the
phone comes to the AT&T store. Then they call you and set a time to
activate the phone. They told me the phone would be arrive in about 10 -
14 days.
Something I have learned from the process is that if you are a new AT&T
customer you can get them to waive some of the little extra charges they
hit you with.

Bob,
I'm in the same boat. I didn't know AT&T would take orders for the
iPhone. Do you have to go to a store or can you do this on the phone
with them? What did they say the wait would be and will it come to your
house like any other cell phone would?
Thanks,
Bob
