Has anyone here tried manually updating Bzip2 for a 10.4.11 system?
Our
security people are adamant that we have to patch Bzip up to v1.05,
but the
directions at Darwin Ports (http://bzip2.darwinports.com/) refer to
non-existent directories and don't work.
Please note the difference between darwinports.com and the "true"
DarwinPorts which was hosted at darwinports.org and has been renamed
MacPorts: http://www.macports.org
See:
http://trac.macports.org/wiki/DarwinPorts
Using MacPorts I was able to install bzip2 1.0.5 on 10.5.6 under /opt/
local/bin (though I am not sure that solves your immediate problem).
Cheers,
Ryan
