Unfortunately for me, getting email has always been problematic under
both 3.0 (and earlier I think) and 3.1 (I have Push turned off). That
is when I got into the habit of rebooting my iPhone -- after two
failed attempts to get email in the morning, a reboot appeared to
help. AT&T service is pretty spotty here. Sometimes even with full
bars an alert window pops up saying it cannot connect to the data
network.
Question: Do the people with battery problems under iPhone 3.1 have a
history of poor data connectivity over AT&T as well (including back in
3.0)?
It may be that spotty AT&T data service combined with 3.1 is causing
problems.
