Based upon Steve's presentation and the
"delay" built into the software when having bars drop, I'll bet
Apple has eliminated much of that delay. The bars probably drop or
rise in real time depending upon your signal, which is probably varying
as well. Previously your signal may have been doing that, you just
didn't see it because the bars took longer to respond. That way no
one can claim that Apple is trying to over portray the signal strength
as a way of showing the iPhone is better.

Yes. I know the bars aren't really significant
as discussed on the list, but immediately following update they literally
went from a steady five to a wave up and down from 4 to zero and repeatedly
undulating where I usually had a steady 5. Shutting it off and rebooting
did nothing. For some reason adding the bumper has helped but not
completely.
