To clarify my question. I doubt I can download an app to my
official computer. The books must be in some kind of ebook format
on my Iphone. Is there anyway to convert that file into an
acceptable (PDF?) format that I can load onto my official computer?

You don't actually have the capability to download the book itself
to
a computer. The app synchronizes with your copy on amazon, such
that
you can switch between the kindle and your app. If you want to
read
your book on a computer, Amazon has a PC application that will
allow
you to access your books directly (no MAC yet). It is beta, but
it
seems to function well enough. Best of all, it is free at
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_pc_mkt_lnd?docId=1000426311

Because of my low vision I find myself downloading (and paying

a lot of books for my job from Amazon to my the Kindle app on

battery
life so I'd like to be able to transfer them to my work
computer. Is
there any way to do that?
