The point I was trying to make early yesterday was the need to separate what we know (and how we know it) from any observations/conclusions we draw from that data.
With respect to the Carrier IQ stuff, we're collectively still learning about (a) where it lives; (b) what it records locally; (c) when and how it transmits that information; (d) who gets that information; and maybe (e) what they're doing with it.
With respect to Apple 'truthiness', that's a legitimate discussion of analysis and conclusion, but let's not mix that up with a statement or aggregation of facts.
